The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is housed in one of Birmingham's finest Art Deco buildings, purpose built and opened by Queen Mary in 1939.
The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is a small but exceptionally representative European art collection, with paintings by Giovanni Bellini, Veronese, Hals, Rubens, Murillo, Poussin, Turner, Manet, Rossetti and Magritte. The collection also includes European watercolours, miniatures, sculpture and classical antiquities.
Whether you're into art, music or rare items, you'll find the Barber Institute an interesting place. It's thought to be one of the finest small galleries in the world.
The Institute has an outstanding collection of works of art and is one of the city's greatest cultural attractions, mainly featuring European art.
