Discover our new resident, the impressive Bowmouth Guitar Shark. Find him in our big ocean tank alongside the Hammerhead Shark, Blacktip Reef Shark, Giant Green Sea Turtle and other amazing creatures!

The National Sea Life centre is located in the heart of Birmingham City Centre between the National Indoor Arena (NIA) and the International Convention Centre (ICC). The National Sea Life Centre is situated on the Brindleyplace estate minutes from the shopping and convention quarters of the city.

Directions to National Sea Life Centre Birmingham

Road
- From The North (e.g Walsall, Wolverhampton, Lichfield, Stafford, Telford, Manchester, Liverpool)

Travelling on the M6, take Junction 6 (Spaghetti Junction), along the A38(M) following the signs for Birmingham City Centre and the National Indoor Arena, closer to the City pick up the signs for the National Sea Life Centre.

- From The East (e.g. Leicester, Coventry, Northampton, Derby, Rugby, Sheffield)

Head for the M42 Junction which takes you onto the A45 heading for Birmingham City Centre, get onto the ring road clockwise direction, which takes you up to Five Ways island, follow the signs for Sea Life down Broad Street.

- From The South East (e.g. Oxford, Banbury, Strafford upon Avon, Warwick, Leamington Spa, London, Reading)

Travelling on M40 merge onto M42 (North), take junction 6 signposted Birmingham Airport onto A45 heading for Birmingham City Centre, get onto the ring road clockwise direction, which takes you up to Five Ways island, follow the signs for Sea Life down Broad Street.

- From The South and South West (Redditch, Bromsgrove, Halesowen, Worcester, Hereford, Bristol, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bath, Swindon, Cardiff)

Travelling on M5, come off at junction 3 which takes you onto the A456, follow signs for Birminham City Centre heading for the Hagley Road, follow the signs for the National Sea Life Centre.

- From The West (Dudley, Kidderminister, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Presteigne, Mid- South Wales)

Head for M5 junction 3 which takes you onto the A456, follow signs for Birmingham City Centre which takes you down the Hagley Road, follow the signs for the National Sea Life Centre.

Car Parking

The National Sea Life Centre recommends that visitors park at the Brindleyplace car park. This is the nearest car park, under a minutes walk to Sea Life. This is a secure car park with 24 hours CCTV security. Please follow signs for Brindleyplace once in the city centre.

Train - New Street Station
The National Sea Life centre is with in 15 minutes walking distance from Birmingham New Street Station. From the train station exit through the Palisades Shopping Centre following the signs to Way Out. Walk down the ramp and turn left into New Street heading for Victoria Square and through Chamberlain Square. Pass through Paradise Forum through Centenary Square and through the International Convention Centre (ICC). Cross the canal bridge to Oozells Square and we are situated just past the water fountains and opposite the NIA.

Train - Snow Hill Station
The National Sea Life Centre is within 20 minutes walking distance from Birmingham Snow Hill Station. From the train station follow the signs for the main Way Out. Turn right into Colmore Row heading for Victoria Square and Centenary Square. Pass through Paradise Forum through Centenary Square and through the International Convention centre (ICC). Cross the canal bridge to Oozells Square and we are situated just past the water fountains and opposite the NIA.

Bus
The National Sea Life centre is located near Broad Street (A456), a major bus route into the city; Sea Life is minutes away from bus stops near the Brass House Restaurant adjacent to Jury’s Inn. For more information on Birmingham Buses please contact Travel West Midlands or Centro.

Coach Parking
Coach parking is located at the National Indoor Arena South Car Park; short stay coach bays are located on Sheepcoat Street near to the centre.
